LNBP Finals Set: Toros vs Halcones Rojos

Fuerza needed to win just one game in the final two games of the second LNBP semi-final. They dropped game six Friday night and then played for all the marbles in game seven last night. The Toros, current LNBP Champs, proved too strong in the end winning game seven last night 78-75.   Donta Smith did his part for Fuerza with 29 and 12 but got little offensive support in what was, for the most part, an evenly contested contest. Terrance Shannon added 15 but Fuerza shot an ice cold 25% from threelandia which was a difference maker along with only connecting on  58% of their free throw attempts.  For the Toros, who will battle for a shot at a second title in as many years, Ike Ofoegbu and Will Pagan had 21 each while teammate Alberto Perez added 14. Is a repeat in the cards for the Toros? It's going to be tough, the Halcones owned the Toros this season, winning all three match ups, two in Nuevo Laredo. Game 1 tips off in the port of Veracruz this Tuesday March 7.

Head coach, Pepo Martinez, of the Toros of Nuevo Lardedo talks about his team coming together back at the end of October. He'll battle fellow Puerto Rican head coach, Eddie Cassiano, of the Halcones Rojos in the LNBP Finals.
