EFH Showcase Coach Award: Ricky Benitez

Coach Ricky Benitez was recognized for the Team Award for going undefeated at the En Fuego Hoops Showcase and the EFH Coaches Award. Benitez is very motivational with his players. His teams are known for playing with a tremendous amount of agressiveness and tenacity. Those are the two words commonly used to describe Benitez as a coach.Benitez coached in Venezuela, Chile, Hungary, Mexico, the WBA, ABA, USBL, CBA and teams such as the WBA All-Stars and the PBL All-Stars.
Career professional record of 330-70, holds the record for most wins in WBA history. A real character that will bring an energy and a work ethic to the teams he coaches. Winner of 3 International tournaments in 3 different countries: Tecate Light Tournament of the Americas (WBA All-Star Team) Guaymas, Mexico - Budapest Hungary (WBA All-Star Team), and the And-1 Dimayor - Libsur Invitational Tournament in Santiago Chile.

Glen Hayes coached Team Chihuahua at the En Fuego Hoops Showcase in San Diego. Coach Hayes was a Eurobasket Summer League Coach of the Year in 2008 and a Former Head Coach in Sweden.

Coach Tacheny has spent the past 5 years working on coaching staffs in the NBA. Tacheny has spent the past 2 years working as an Advance Scout with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Some of his responsibilities with the Timberwolves included game planning, scouting, opponent preparation and player development. He also worked with many of the Timberwolves players and free agent prospects as an assistant coach to the Timberwolves Summer League team. Prior to his time with the Timberwolves, Tacheny spent 3 seasons working in various capacities for the Orlando Magic.
