The Sacramento Kings defeated the Phoenix Suns 82-69 at Cox Pavilion on Friday in NBA 2K23 Summer League action.
The Kings raced out to a big lead to secure a comfortable win despite the Suns’ late reaction. Sacramento jumped out to a 22-12 lead in the first quarter and bolstered that double-digit lead with scores of 30-24 in the second quarter and 20-15 in the third. Sacramento only tallied 10 points in the final frame, which Phoenix won by an 18-10 score, but it wasn’t nearly enough to sniff a comeback.
Keegan Murray had an excellent performance for the Kings and finished with a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double, while Neemias Queta also had a double-double, concluding with 15 points and 10 rebounds. DJ Steward rounded out the double-digit scorers for Sacramento with 14 points.
Only three Phoenix players scored in double digits in the contest, with Ish Wainwright posting 13 points along with four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block to carry the losing side. McKinley Wright IV added 11 points and eight assists, while Dejan Vasiljevic also collected 11 off the bench in only 10 minutes.
