Golden State assistant Kenny Atkinson will reportedly remain with the Warriors.

The Charlotte Hornets reportedly reached an agreement with Kenny Atkinson to become their next coach last week, but the Golden State Warriors assistant appears to be staying in the Bay Area.

Atkinson has decided to remain with the 2022 NBA champions and turn down his four-year agreement with the Hornets, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

ESPN Sources: Kenny Atkinson has decided he won’t become the Charlotte Hornets’ head coach and will remain with Golden State as top assistant. After being offered job during the NBA Finals, further conversations led Atkinson to believe it would be best to remain with Warriors.
